Javonte Williams is my #1 RB trade target in Dynasty right now & I wanted to take a moment to explain why.
As most of you know – Javonte was great in college.
But just how great?
He played immediately as a true FR.
Put up 166/933/5 rushing & 17/176/1 receiving as a SO.
Before EXPLODING for 157/1140/19 & 25/305/3 receiving as a JR.
Even with NFL-bound Michael Carter in the same backfield – Javonte finished with a 30.4% Dominator Rating his JR. year (68th percentile).
He averaged 7.3 YPC (93rd percentile).
& commanded 9.2% of UNC’s targets (73rd percentile).
Most impressively – as a JR., he broke 75 tackles on just 157 rushing attempts, leading the entire NCAA while breaking PFF’s all-time record for broken tackle rate (.48).
He gained an absurd 831 of his 1140 rushing yards AFTER contact.
To put a cherry on top – he declared early.
Why is that important?
Here’s a chart of RB selections over the past 10 years, early-declares vs non-early declares, & their PPG finishes (provided by SharpFootball).

Just by declaring-early, Javonte has a 24.4% chance of producing at least one RB1 PPG finish.
The NFL also gave him their stamp of approval when DEN drafted him RD2, 35th overall.
He’s also a phenomenal athlete.
He may not have top-end speed (4.57 Pro Day 40), but his 36” vertical at 5’10”/212 confirms elite-level explosiveness.
(Here’s a thread I wrote last year touching on the relevance of the vertical jump for RB’s).
That explosive athleticism + tackle-breaking ability is already transferring to the NFL.
Javonte has broken 5 tackles on his first 39 NFL rushing attempts & is currently top-5 in the NFL in juke-rate, as a rookie.
Just look at the dude. It’s poetry in motion.
In addition to being one the best tackle-breakers in the game – he’s also an above-average receiver.
After putting up a 73rd percentile target share as a JR., Javonte has had at least 1 reception in each of his first 3 NFL games.
He’s pacing for 28 receptions through his first 3 games, as a rookie, in a timeshare.
Which suggests he can be 40+ reception, potentially 50+ reception RB in YR2 & beyond.
He’s also a polished pass-blocker.
On 64 pass-blocking snaps as a JR. at UNC, he only allowed 2 pressures & 2 hurries.
In 3 games as a pro, he hasn’t allowed a single pressure on any of his 11 pass-blocking attempts.
He currently has an 85.4 pass-blocking grade from PFF, 4th highest among ALL RB’s.
For perspective, his veteran counterpart, Melvin Gordon, currently has a 67.1 pass-blocking grade from PFF, 19th among all RB’s.
Put everything together & Javonte Williams appears to be a legitimate 3-down WORKHORSE in the making – with absolutely ZERO flaws.
& I haven’t even talked about the Broncos scouting team comping Javonte to Ezekiel Elliot…
Or Teddy Bridgewater comparing him to Alvin Kamara…

All of the evidence is there & it is OVERWHELMING.
Buy Javonte Williams & you’re getting the next Joe Mixon, at worst.
The next Ezekiel Elliot, at best.
The best part about it?
His price tag comes with a Melvin-Gordon-discount.
Right now you can turn Derrick Henry, Aaron Jones, Zeke, Mixon, Chubb, CEH, into Javonte Williams+ (or ++), even though Javonte’s likely to surpass most (if not all) of them in value straight-up by the end of the season when Gordon hits FA.
With how short RB shelf lives are, if you’re not directly competing for a Championship this year, it’s the PERFECT time to buy, to flip a vet RB, while you can still get that + on top, for what looks to almost assuredly be one of the next big things at RB.
Go get Javonte.
NOW.
